Our love for West Virginia, more particularly Pocohontas County, began over 30 years ago when our family was asked if we would be willing to move to Ambassadors for Christ Campground and become the caretakers.  After much prayer we knew it was what God wanted us to do.

We gave up jobs and home to move our family into a small single wide trailer, with no promise of salary, but we knew this was where we were supposed to be.  In the four years we were there, the campground went from one meeting a year to being full, all-summer and part of the winter months.

​

We made so many lasting friendships during the short four years we were there. In fact, it was from one of the groups from Michigan that our daughter met her future husband.

​

Now after 30 years, we felt that God was moving us again, and that is when we saw that the AFC Campground was for sale. We just knew that this was going to be a full circle moment bringing us back "home" to a place and people that never left our hearts.
